General Conditions of Use

2. By using, you are making an agreement between yourself and Somtec Trading PLC (referred to in these Conditions of Use as ‘We’, ‘Us’, ‘Our’) in which you agree to comply with these Conditions of Use.
3. You must not provide any information for inclusion on or in conjunction with your use of that you know is false or misleading. If you do give false or misleading information, or if you leave out information so that information you do give is misleading, appropriate action will be taken against you.
4. Job Seekers, Employers and Job Services Providers must accept and abide by these General Conditions of Use and any applicable Specific Conditions of Use for using

Where you have requested access to a secure part of, your User ID will be recorded. Where you send a message or submit a form, your email address and phone number will be recorded.

22. You must ensure that the information you submit on does not contain information that:
  • contains obscene, indecent or offensive language;
  • is defamatory, abusive, harassing or hateful;
  • is off-topic or irrelevant to providers’ services, including comments that are exclusively political;
  • invades privacy or impersonates;
  • is unlawful;
  • constitutes spam or advertising;
  • contains images, website links or videos not relevant to the prvider’s services; or
  • encourages conduct that might constitute a criminal offence or give rise to civil liability.
Monitoring of job vacancies
23. is hosted on a computer system funded by Us. We have the right to refuse access to this service.
24. We will remove Vacancies or request changes to Vacancies if we believe they do not meet these Conditions of Use or We determine, in Our sole discretion, that the Vacancy is an unacceptable or inappropriate Vacancy.
25. Vacancies are checked by staff contracted to Us and will not be uploaded on to if they do not meet these Conditions of Use.
26. We have the right to remove Vacancies We consider duplicate Vacancies, including where an employer advertises in multiple locations.
27. You must not provide information that is likely to be considered false, misleading, offensive or unlawful.  If you do, this information may not be displayed and may be removed from the system.  You may be refused access to and, if appropriate, have your details given to the appropriate authorities.
Specific Conditions of Use for Employers
Vacancy requirements
28. All new or altered Vacancies lodged by public Employers must go through quality assurance checks to make sure that they meet these Conditions of Use prior to being uploaded. Please note that Vacancies lodged by Employers directly via the internet or Vacancy Web Services normally appear on within 1 to 2 business days.
29. In order to lodge a Vacancy, you must have included in your registration: the name of the employing business, a contact name, address and a landline phone number so we can contact you about your Vacancies. A mobile number may be supplied as an additional alternative form of contact but vacancies with mobile numbers alone will not be accepted.
Please note: the details described above will not be displayed on your Vacancy unless you include them in the job description. 
30. You must make sure that Vacancies you lodge on
  • include a unique Vacancy for each job type;
  • ensure the occupation code matches the job title/description;
  • include a genuine, descriptive job title;
  • provide a clear and accurate description of the nature of the work, including details of the service or product involved;
  • ensure the location the Vacancy is advertised in clearly indicates where the job actually exists;
Specific Conditions of Use for Job Seekers
How does JobSearch work?
31. lets you search for jobs and create or upload your resume(s) or CV. It sends you job alerts that meets your qualification via SMS (text messaging on your mobile). 
32. The information provided by you will be used by Employers searching for Employees and also to send you job alerts.
33. By registering with you are agreeing to have your resume/CV viewed by registered employers and employment service providers and to receive notifications (via email or your personal profile or mobile) from relating to job matches, employment offers from employers, the use of the website and other relevant Employment matters.
Job seekers rules for using
34. The following rules apply for Job Seekers using
  • Fees to job seekers:
  • Job seekers are required to provide detail information during registration like full name, qualification, years of experience and mobile number.
  • Job seekers can access to website for free and get detail job information.
  • Job seekers receive job alerts to their registered mobile for jobs that match their profile.
  • We have an agreement with ethiotelecom to provide VAS services both through MT and MO.
  • We send job vacancies matching job seekers’ profile directly to the registered mobile.
  • Job seekers are charged MT service of 1 Birr (one Ethiopian birr) per message of matched job alart.Job alerts are sent from 8874.
  • Job seekers can update their profile like updating experience.Job seekers send relevant key word to 8087 (MO service short number) for such services and they are charged 2 Birr (two ehtiopian birr).
  • Job seekers can stop the serivce by sending “Stop” to 8872 for free to stop receiving job alerts from mjobs.

 Putting a resume on
35. To upload a resume/CV on you will need to save your resume as a Rich Text Format (RTF) document. 
36. If your resume has any information that is considered false, misleading, offensive or unlawful, it may not be displayed and may be removed from the system.
37. People with sensitive Job Seeker records (for example, those under witness protection) whose personal details must not be displayed must not upload their resume(s).
Job seeker privacy
38. Persona| details about you will be shown to Employers on that you choose to include in your resume. Otherwise your identity will remain anonymous.  Your personal details will not be displayed on and cannot be viewed by any other parties.
39. Any information provided in resumes you upload or create on the website can be viewed by Employers. Employers are bound by contract to protect your privacy in regard to any information you put on the website.
